Welcome to the March edition of Simply Massage’s Therapist Spotlight! Last month you got to meet Mike Sprinkle, and this month we’ll introduce you to our very own Shinji Tsuji.
Tell us a little about yourself, Shinji!
Shinji: I’m originally from Kyoto, Japan. I’ve always loved working with my hands and I was intrigued when I saw an advertisement to study massage. As soon as I tried it, I fell in love with the work (and I still love it).
I find it fascinating that therapists are able to release energy in the body that’s “stuck.” One of the most rewarding parts of my work is awakening positive feelings in my clients and helping them overcome depression and negative thoughts.
What do you do when you’re not at Simply?
When I’m not at work, I love cycling and enjoying the fresh mountain air. I also regularly practice meditation and tantra yoga.
I’m a very open-minded person who’s always up for new adventures and exploring new ideas. I originally came to Colorado for the job opportunity and I love everything about the mountain lifestyle and culture.
Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
Before studying massage therapy, I worked as a scuba diving instructor. In addition to Japan and the US, I’ve also lived in Crete, Greece and Tallin, Estonia.
Meditation and yoga help me to breathe deep and enjoy being “in the moment.” One of my goals is to transfer that same peaceful energy to my massage clients.
